Bow has no traction???

As mentioned earlier, I bought cheap chineese cello and bow. Well the bow does not produce a sound and the "seller" very nicely, sent me a second bow. The second bow is almost as bad as the first. The bows themselves appear to be well made and of reasonable quality (for what I paid). The cello plays quite nicely with any other bow...including some rather cheap ones. Has anyone run into this with bow hair? is there a home remidy?
Thanks

That`s pretty darn strange because no matter how cheap of a bow you have, it will always make sound. Did you scratch the rosin block so it will rub well to the horse hair, or is it still shiny? If not then there is no rosin on the bow.

Sean,
I took your advise, and grabbed a new block of "cello" rosin, and went like a wild man to my "defective" bow. After a few minutes (not just a few seconds) the bow started to come to life! A few more minutes of intense rubbing on the rosin block and the bow now works like a charm. Thanks!
