I'm a hurdy-gurdy maker and am always looking for worn or broken cello C and G strings for use as drones on my instruments. I currently have to buy Pirastro Aricore or Eudoxa strings which are a silly price considering I need to cut a third off and then only ask them to play one note !. It occurred to me that many Cellists may well have old strings lying around and as long as I can 65cm of useable string and the string is a quality synthetic core type, I'd be happy to pay a reasonable price for them.
Thanks in advance
Neil

Most cellists will immediately discard broken strings, although decent cello strings (unlike guitar strings, for example) don't break very often. I've never actually changed strings because my strings were simply old, but I have upgraded to better strings. The idea in this case was to hang on to the replaced strings, but they seemed to disappear pretty quickly. You might ask at a repair shop.
