Many good hard cases come with wheels now. The sooner you can get one the sooner you will be protecting your cello better.

Many cello players I know have them, and a large number of cellists in the youth orchestras I work with have them. It really reall really is a good way to go. And if riding the bus you don't have to worry about someone accidently banging into it, And you don't have to worry about the rain either.

yeah i was only hesitant about the weight and extra bulk. does anyone know if it fits on a bus seat?
about the rain...it was snowin really heavy one day last year, and the bus couldn't go up to school. so i was walkin for ages and i ended up takin my coat off and putting it over the cello cuz of snow buildup.

They barely fit on the seat(s).Sit it crossways with the butt near the window and you near the aisle and you can rest the neck on your lap, makes a great napping cushing. Again, find one with the built in wheel set.
