I was in my high school orchestra and graduated and am now a freshman at a college without a music department. I am planning on transfering for the winter semester next year to a school with a strings department preferably Catholic University of America. I have a problem though. I don't have private lessons and have no idea what pieces to prepare for an audition. The requirements are: "Applicants should prepare a 10-minute audition of 3 contrasting pieces of standard classical repertoire." I have 2 questions. 1. Is it too unrealistic to audition and major in music? (I have no private lessons but have played in school orchestra since 4th grade) 2. Does anyone have any suggestions of pieces to play?
