Hi all..

For a long while now I`ve been wanting to learn the cello. I am facinated with Bach, Brahms, Vivaldi and all their cello suites and concertos. I`ve never had the facilities available to me to learn, but I`ve kind of tucked it away as "something I want to do".

Well I`m 22 now and sick of making that excuse. One way or another, I`m going to at least try to learn. I`m having a very hard time finding a facility to take lessons from in my area (Austin TX). Nor do I know the first thing about buying my first cello.

Can anyone refer me to a website with a FAQ about buying your first cello? Does anyone know how to find a directory of listings for cellists in my area that provide lessons?

I`ve searched google and found a couple sites like, privatelessons.com but all the listings for "cello" don`t have actually have "cello" listed as their instruments.

Anyway, help would be appreciated.

I don`t think I have any answers to your questions but I think it`s great that you want to start playing the cello. I started when I was around 22 too and I don`t regret it!
