I know this is on the Cello forum.
What should I pick? I like the tone quality out of the viola, and the low notes of the cello. I also plan to audition for a chamber orchestra. The Viola is cheaper and more portable. What should I choose?
I've always preferred the cello myself. But if you like the viola and the cello I would think you have more opportunities as a good viola player. And yes, expense and mobility are easier with the viola also.
