I have had a cello for about a half year now, and I am still not able to tune it! Always when i tune the cello and it is on the right note, the whole tuning pegs slips out again, I have tried so many different thing like, hammer soft with a gummi hammer etc. What can i do?? Is my Cello maybe broken?? I am a cello beginner, I have never played it because i was unable to tune it. Please help me someone.
ps. I don't have the chance to talk with a cello player/teacher in real life

Hi
Remember the tuning pegs are only held in by friction and are slightly conical in shape. As you tighten them, you must push them in firmly so they are wedged into the peg hole. If they still slip, loosen the pegs enough that you can pull them slightly out of the peg box then scribble chalk on the pegs where they touch the surface of the peg box. That should give you a little more grip as you try to keep the pegs in place.
