I know this is likely a common question but I need to ask.. I am looking to buy a cello, my first. According to my height (5'3") I should get a 4/4. However, according to my finger span, I should get a 3/4 size. So which would be best, height VS finger span.

I tried to actually try a cello in person but the only independent music shop near me did not have any cellos. The closest Guitar Center to me had only violins. I live in the middle of nowhere :/

Help would be appreciated. Thank you in advanced!

If you are a kid who is still going to grow, definitely go for the full size. If 5'4" is your final height, finger span is way more important, so you should get a 3/4.

Also, renting might be better until you figure it out.

If you are finished growing, you should look into 7/8 cellos. They are a little more rare.
