I am about to embark on a journey of learning how to play the cello. It was always a big wish of mine to learn it and since I have some spare money to buy one i am in need of good advice what should I specifically look for in a beginner cello. I have seen quite a few brands such as Stentor and Cecilio and so on. However I don't think a cello that costs 400£ to 500£ will sound good or will be a joy to play. I wonder what an experience cellist as your self would advice to get. Should I give these entry level cello brands a chance? Or should I try to find a used cello instead? My budget is about 700£ to 900£. Hope to hear from you guys soon.
Kind Regards
Rokas

My advice is to rent one first and take at least a year of lessons on the rented one before you even think of buying. I'm surprised at some of the prices you mention, by the way: I went cello shopping (that is, browsing) last spring and didn't see a single cello for less then about $1000 American dollars (apparently £ 764.59 GBP to you). I looked in actual real physical stores though, not an online.
