Can anyone suggest some great, new cello solo music for someone who is intermediate to accomplished? It is for a friend, and I know nothing about this stuff. I tried to find Cello Song, by Drake, but had no luck. Is there something a contemporary that you all love? I had purchased Encore and Travels With My Cello by Julian Webber, and that was fun for him. I would love to hear from you, cellists

Sean: Thank you for the advice. I was looking through the web pages and found that Steven Isserlis may have some new stuff published in 1999 in a book entitled "Cello World." Do you know anything of this music? It is difficult for me, as I don`t have a background in this instrument, but love it extremely. If you have something that is a favorite for about a level 5 of 1-6, I would love to hear a title. Thanks.

I just say, why should I buy sheet music when I can find it free on the internet unless no one has it for free. I don`t know very much about the music I find.

I have always liked the music: Rimsky Korsakofv`s

"Flight Of The Bumble-bee"

I think it`s level 6. At beat 144, and mostly 16th notes it`s pretty hard.

`Variations` by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Its was composed for cello and rock band in the 70`s I think, but it is on a theme af Paganini`s caprice in A minor, no. 24, I think, and was composed especially for JULIAN LLOYD WEBBER, and for how good it sounds, it is not that hard to play. Some people say it is the best music EVER composed for the cello. Get your friend that, you won`t regret it!

Hey I`m a percussionist (i know you probably hate us) my sister is a cellist and for her birthday I wanted to get her some music but I can`t find the peice I had in mind. It`s not like the the peices you guys have links for. I was looking for the music to Many Moore- Only Hope. We both think it`s really cool and we can`t find it anywhere. do any of you guys have it or have a link of something?

Don`t mean to disapoint u, but I`m not sure it exsists (if u know otherwise, then i`m wrong, sorry), its really hard to find pop songs for the cello, not much demand. By the way, cellists don`t hate percussionists, we`re all musicians after all.

Yeah....lol....cellist don`t hate percussionists...trust me. I do both the cello and percussion, even though I enjoy the cello alittle more, only b/c I`ve played it longer.Lol.
