Yes, I named my cello. I called him (and he is so obviously a him seeing as cellos are the tenor of the string family) Earendil from Lord of the Rings. Earendil is the sun and moon or something like that and I love my cello so its kinda fitting. My friend thinks im stupid but then again she DID call her viola Brucy (im not kidding)

Haha, when I firsts began to play the cello 10 years ago, when I was six, hehe, My instructor told me to name my cello, and oddly the first name that came to mind was Rasputin, and thats been his name ever since, I have three more, and their names are Nostradamus, Tutankahmen, and Napoleone.

I named my wonderful cello "Tiny." An oxymoron, really. My cello in his big hard case is anything but tiny.
