I am looking for advice on getting a good Bass sound......I was a guitar player that switched to Bass cause I cant find a gig....I have a Peavey Combo 300 thats OK I guess but I need some solid advice on getting the most out of my gear without paying through the nose for an Ampeg. I have a Fender 5 string Jazz Bass and the low B sounds kinda bad...stock pickups, single coil...why do they put single coil pickups on a BASS????....should be something thicker than a thin single coil sound....what do you all think of Bartolini?...and how can I get that low B to even sound like it`s in tune??
