That movie inspired me to play guitar. i`ve been playing for a year now and not improving. could somebody give me some playing advise, tips, or anything that will help with my playing. also if anyone has sheet music or tabs from any of the School Of Rock songs that would be awesome! expecially the one they played for battle of the bands, you know, the one that zach moonyham wrote.
Thanks,
Logan

Hi. A book that I found really helpful in playing fast solos (like in School of Rock) is:

IF YOU REALLY WANT TO PROGRESS WITH LEGATO AND TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL, THEN I RECOMMEND YOU PURCHASE THIS BOOK:

<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="4" cellpadding="0">
<tr valign=top><td width="80" align=center><a href="http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/a/item.html?id=97765&item=2964885"><img src="http://gfx.sheetmusicplus.com/store/060x080/HL-00695034.GIF" width="60" height="80" border="0" alt="Terrifying Technique for Guitar - sheet music at www.sheetmusicplus.com" hspace=10></a></td>
<td><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"><b><a href="http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/a/item.html?id=97765&item=2964885">Terrifying Technique for Guitar</a></b> By Carl Culpepper. Guitar Book. Size 9x12 inches. 64 pages. Published by Hal Leonard. (695034)<br><a href="http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/a/item.html?id=97765&item=2964885">See more info...</a></font></font></td>
</tr>
</table>

I don`t know if HTML works here. If not, e-mail me:

and I will send you the link.

I would say for you to practice and learn all genres or the main guitar ones, 50`s, 60`s, 70`s & 80`s rock, jazz blues, funk, bluegrass, and folk. If you want to learn punk and emo stuff dont bother trying to get better because your probobly good enough to play that.

I don`t agree w/ the last guy; there are talented guitarists in all genre`s, whether or not its your PREFERANCE is a different story. Learn the basics and then write from the heart. Don`t try and become a "clone" of some other guitarist... don`t "learn" songs, learn how to play.
