I don`t know what genre you`re into, but if you`re into the intermediate rock sound, I highly recommend some of Nirvana`s material, notably "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Its good beginners material.

i agree...regardless of what music ur into you should try some nirvana or somethin similar...needless to say its great music, yet simple, and it will help you and your band get timing down
