Hi.
I got this guitar the other day-it was cheap and looked interesting. Since then i haven't been able to work out what make it is or type of guitar.
It has one set of pickups which look odd (a piece of metal with holes in, showing just black material), i assume they're piezoelectric but i have no idea about that sort of thing. It has two symetrical spikes which curve away from the guitar at either side of the nech, looking rather like horns.

The scratch plate is back, decorated with which white flowers and curls, and the body as a dark wood sunburst. It has a volume and tone knobs.

Someone has painted the fender nametag on the neck so there is no real name left.

I'll try to get a picture up tomorrow.

thanks
Iz

I was the buyer and designer of Ventura guitars when In the late '60s and 7os I was the vice pres of C. Bruno &co., an ancient purveyor of all kinds of musical instruments and accessories, then sold to about ten thousand retail stores in the U.S, P. Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Isles. The instruments came from a selected variety of factories throughout Japan. The quality of most were quite high, and the guitars were each individually set up in the U.S. warehouses in N.Y., Calif. and Texas. Bruno was sold to the Kamann Corp. in the 70s. This was the company making the Glen campell touted Ovation guitars with the plastic back. The thing you describe was simply put together, and to my knowledge such an instrument was not mfged. Maybe it began as a double cutaway electric ventura, and then messed with.

Poster jdlaw: I seriously need you to contact me!!! I've been running a web page devoted to Ventura/Bruno guitars for a couple of years now, and you could be a fantastic resource for answering many questions I have about the company and the instruments.

I've just recently moved the website away from popup filled free space to my own paid space, and am currently upgrading it at:
