Hi, if on a budget I would recommend looking for a used but decent quality guitar. If you are looking for a steel string acoustic guitar, some of the Yamaha's are a good deal, like an FG730, and you may find them on craigslist. Make sure the action is good, the guitar has a truss rod to adjust the neck if needed, and most of all that it feels good to play and you like the sound.
By the way, thanks for your post on 3/4 cello size for an adult. I actually am going to start learning cello, and bought a used 3/4 to start, but I am a 5' tall adult with small hands, so I think it will be OK for me to start. I play other instruments, and just trying this, but if I ever get good I would consider a full size for the sound and quality.

You could try a cheap alvarez, they are usually good quality. Also check ebay for an ovation 1612 custom balladeer deep bowl. If you get one with a cracked face they are pretty cheap. I have had one for three years or so and even with the cracks it is holding up well.
