I`m looking to buy a guitar but i`m not sure which i should get...

ya, fenders are great guitars. As I have heard from a friend(I am no guitar expert) that they are more geared towards jazz playing, and he plays rock so he is getting a Les Paul, he has been going on and on about it forever, right now he has a Ibanez which is a great guitar also. I just have a hamer because I am jsut starting, but when I get into it I am planning on an Ibanez or a Les Paul, hope I could help.

there`s no absolute best guitar style. It always depends on what style you play. Fender strat is good for blues and for rock( and so is the fender`s Telecaster). Ibanez is the most versatile electric guitar. Jazz, Rock, Metal stuff will be mor ethan ok if you get a good one( I have an Ibanez RG720 and it`s just great). Gibson halo bodies are wonderful for jazz. If your rich find the Joe Pass model. But first of all, wonder yourself what you wanna play.

First of all, sit down with the guitar and strum some chords as well as some notes-do some arpeggios(they sound great and you won`t be embarrassed.) I had played on all kinds. But, I love sound, and my sound may be different than yours. I like the simple and yet inexpensive Ibanez guitars. Regardless, if it`s a Les Paul, a Destroyer, A RG (strat style), to a G.Benson model. The necks are just right and the woods are great. Epiphone, ibanez..

I`m into led zeppelin, hendrix, etc... What kind of guitar would give me there type of sound.

Joe, Zeppelin uses Les Pauls and SG`s. Page is especially known for his double neck LP, but I don`t recommend it -- you`ll need serious chiropractic afterwards. If the Gibsons are too expensive, check out the Epiphones -- they sound and feel very nice.

As for Hendrix, he is most known for taking a righty Strat, turning it upside down and restringing it you don`t have to do this, any strat as is will be fine. He did have some humbucker guitars but he is best known for his strat sound. He played clean for rhythm and liked adding fuzz box for lead.

I am a begginer and two days ago my dad went to Samash with me and got me a Fender Stratocastor. I love it, it sounds great.

What ever happened to acoustics? And Nylon Strings?

For electrics I don`t have much experience with playing different guitars. But I owned a Standard Fender Strat. I payed about $400 (I sold it for $200). I think the sound was sufficient, and so was the feel. Also with electric guitar you can always have like a billion dollars worth of foot pedals, amps, synthesizers, and whatevers hooked up to um.

But I still think there is nothing like acoustics.

I have been playing for 12 years and I would sugjest a fender strat or a Squire. A squire is the same thing as a fender but it is for begginers. There are experts that play squires though.If you are looking to buy cheap get a squire if you dont mind the cost get a Fender

I can honestly say, that a fender strat is the best guitar you can get. It has many options that any les paul or ibanez guitar doesn`t have. Five way switching for electronics,tremelo, several different pickup options, and many more. The strat can be played with any kind of music. From ballads to the most shredding rock out there. And it`s probably got the best price of any of the choices. Strat=350 bucks LP=500 for epiphone model and much more for gibson, and ibanez depends on which one you get, steve vai special and joe satriani special are probably the only ones i`d ever buy and they run over 1000. so its up to you, price, and quality. Which is more important?

i have a platinum seris B.C. Rich warlock that plays awsome. it ges for about 350 if you can get it used. it looks awsome also. great for metal
