Hi. I`ve been learning guitar for a year now (no lessons, all by myself) and I wan`t to play some solos. I have no troubles playing the basic chords with their extensions and stuff but when I try to play a solo then I`m stuck. I think my technique is wrong. So could somebody explain me how does your hands and fingers work when playing a solo. And how can u guys play the solos so fast? It`s like I`m picking the first three notes while the other guy has already started a new song.

Lots of practice. Start slow over and over again until your brain has it inprinted and then you start speeding things up.

Thanks. That four finger technicue needs a lot of exersise. And I finally figured out why I wasn`t able to use the alternative picking style. One old guitarrist show my pick. Turned out I was playing a 3mm very heavwy pick. Heh. Didn`t know that it matters but afer trying the right pick things get faster and easyer.
