If you`re interested in learning classical guitar, you can use Noad playing the guitar book 1. A very nice book where you`ll learn notation and technique. The book is supposed to be for teachers, I think. But, if you get stuck, you can always ask here or somewhere else.

I use the Belwin`s 21st century Guitary Library by Aaron Stang (Warner Bros. Publishing) for teaching beginners. Go to your nearest music store and order Guitar Method 1 with the CD. You`ll pick up reading notes fast with a bit of work. Then you can progress onto whatever style of music moves you. The rest of the course is marvelous too (Song Trax and Rock Shop).
