ya... its easier than you think... just think about it... if you suck at tuning 2 strings together then most likely your high E will be out of tune... you got to be very percise... first of you go to drop D.... (standard tuning with the low E a full step down)... now tune it all again using just one different thing first... hold your low D at 8 and make it sound like A (the next string)... you should only be changing D... nothing else... now your tuning is C#, A, D, G, B, E,... now starting for C#... hold it at 7 and make A sound like it... then you tune the rest as you would standard... now you have drop C#... there are other ways of doing this... you could tune to standard a half step down and the tune it to drop D (whick will now be drop C#)... but whatever... both ways work

E A D G B E -- Standard
To:
D A D G B E - Drop D
To:
C G C F A D -- Drop-C
Drop C and Drop D tunings help make power chords easier. Traditional power chords require you split your fingers by two frets, which is extremely hard for small people like me. Tuning into Drop C or Drop D will allow you to play power chords on the biggest three strings by playing the same fret on all three strings.

then tune it down one step its

drop C tuning...C,G,C,F,A,D
From normal tuning, play the third fret on LOW E. then play open A, tune the A until it sounds the same as the third fret of E.
Then, on the A string, play the fifth fret, then open D string and tune the A string till it sounds the same as the open D string.
Then compare the fifth fret on the D string with the open G.
Then compare the forth fret on G and open B string.
Then the fifth fret on B, with open high e string.
now play the seventh fret on your low E string, and open A - (the A is now a G.) tune the E until it sounds the same as the A(G) string.
