Hey!
I`m looking for a cheap guitar (200 - 300 dollars or euros) that really has a nice jazz and blues sound to it.
I was wondering if you can play jazz on an Epiphone SG G400?
Thanks for your help!

If the SG has humbuckers on it (which I think it does) you can probably swing, though it`d be a dif. look. I`ve had good jazz results from the Epiphone LP 100, which is something like $340 now. With some work, you might be able to swing on a Squire strat, but who whant to play one of those?!

Also look into the Ibanez Artcore series. They have low-cost hollowbodies, which are great for jazz and blues.

Well, since Oscar Shmitt axes are rather cheap, I`d almost expect the sound and quality to be cheap too, but I honestly don`t know for certain. But before you buy ANY guitar, try it out. You don`t know for sure if it`s right for you before you play it.

About the spanish music, I`d guess that you could play it on a jazz guitar by getting the correct mix of neck and bridge `buckers, but that`s up to the specific guitar, I guess. As far as I know, flaminco music is mostly played on steel guitars.
