I`ve seen what are called "baratone guitars" or "low tuned" for sale and haven`t tried one out yet. What`s the difference? Are they a whole octave lower, or tuned down a coupple steps? Thanks.

I`d like to take a moment and say that that was a terribly juvenile response, second man, or "Austin...pishh." Because you didn`t give any sort of information, you remind me of those really annoying kids in elementry school that tell you they know a secret or the answer to a problem, but won`t tell you because they don`t really know it. No matter what you say, they still insist they know it, but obviously don`t. Their empty bragging annoys the heck out of anyone.

You`re also like the people that nobody`s friends with because they have no people skills whatsoever. When someone asks them a question that they know, they get up on their high horse because they suddenly have an advantage and when they tell you the answer, they add some insut to make themselves feel better because they`re so insecure.

listen baratone guitars are just low tuned guitars that are tuned to "A" and they wiegh liken 35 pounds.The "E" is 76 theres your answer now stop being such nobbs

Picked one up and tuned it like a standard E A D G B E but lowered each string a tone and 1/2. Great for dead thumb blues and finger style. Thinking about putting it thru a cross over to seperate the frequencies to two different amps. May even experiment with different effects on post cross over.

As far a being a 13 year old metal head, I`m 56 and like it all from bluegrass to jazz to classical.

Is it possible to tune a baritone guitar standard, & still get a quallity sound.
