Im planning on building a custom soon as a 3rd guitar. I want to put in 2 EMG-81s, but on the site if you mouseover the pic of the electronics that come with it, it shows that you need a 9V battery attached to it. Then i went to the specs link and it says the battery will last 3000 hours. Is this only when it is plugged in? My other question is where would i put the battery in a top routed Les Paul body?

Check it out. Thanks for the help.

Honestly, the batteries do no last that long. I have had several EMG equipped guitars and I wouldn`t say how long the 9V lasts to anyone. Get the best battery, and keep a spare. They say whatever they say in their literature for whatever reason, and yes it means while plugged in. But batteries die over time too. What do you mean by a top routed Les Paul? My battery fits very nicely with some foam into my back routed. So, if you have a Junior there, just insulate the battery, usually wrapped in a little foam & electrical tape and just put it where it fits, in the front cavity. Wherever it fits it fits.
