How would you play a D chord if their is a capo on fret 3?

3 half steps lower now, but there is no normal chord that you could finger. So, you`ll need to do a barre chord on the 5th string, and this new chord just happens to be in the 5th fret or position also, for this situation. Place your index finger flat across all of the strings at the 5th position, and arrange your other fingers to make an A major shaped chord. Strum from the 5th string down to the first. Kathrine, I just wish to reinforce that my reply is correct, and you can count on it. I didn`t realize you had asked the same question 3 days ago, and got other replies which had some merit, but were going in different directions from the simplest, correct advice which I have given you.
