I`ve been playing an Ovation Balladeer that I purchased new in 1981 for .....well, a long time and it has beautiful clear harmonics at the 17th fret. Recently I`ve started looking for an acoustic with a cutaway and am not finding hardly any which can produce clear harmonics at the 17th fret. Anyone know what determines this quality in a guitar? Can a guitar with geat tone be set up better by a good luthier to achieve good harmonics? Any input welcome!
