what`s more important: being an awesome guitarist, or playing songs with a lot of feeling without being that good?

hey.I`m a drummer as well as a guitar player. My opinion is that,if your playing the guitar & your really feeling it, you are an awesome guitar player.I`d rather play with some one who has a lot of feeling instead of someone who`s standing in the same spot with no feeling. Eventually, you`ll get good @ both & maybe be like yngwie malmsteen or s.r.v

most awesome guitarist Do feel the music. it takes years of practice and devotion. its a labor of love.

if ur not into the music i cant see u ever really getting past a certain level of play.

also if you`re teaching yourself the guitar make sure you learn the theory aswell, like key`s, readying trebble cleff, names of chords and stuff like that...if you don`t you`ll get stuck at a certain level...trust me it happened to me.

Both. Although, you`re more likely to be successful if your songs are catchy, even if your truly suck. But you don`t want to be like that, do you?

i would definitely agree about learning the theory behind the music, without you can only get so far, im making up for that right now...not fun but educational and everythings really starting to fall into place... good luck
