Hi there,
I`m assuming you`re an adult, so these are adult type books. (It has been awhile since I read them, and I really don`t remember if there is inappropriate material for kids in them, but I wouldn`t think a kid would find them particularly engrossing. Maybe not an adult either, for that matter!)

1) "Body and Soul" by Frank Conroy ISBN 0-440-21789-X Publisher: Dell

The back cover reads, in part, "The setting is 1940`s New York... about a brilliant child prodigy whose musical genius pulls him out of squalor... the same talent that transforms him also hurtles him into a lonel world of obsession and relentless ambition. From Carnegie Hall to the smoky jazz clubs of London... and breathtaking glimpse into a boy`s heart and an artist`s soul."

2) "Solo Hand" by Bill Moody ISBN0-440-22322-9
Publisher, Dell.

This is a mystery novel in which a pianist becomes a sleuth for a time.

The back cover reads, in part, "The LA music scene is a feeding frenzy of cutthroat businessmen, razor-sharp lawyers, and brilliant engineers ready to make the talentless into stars. Once, Evan Horne was a player - a pianist whose heart and soul belonged to music. Now he is on the outside looking in, his right hand badly damaged in a car accident. And when the King of Soul gives Horne a call, it`s a whole new gig."

Actually, I am 13, but do you think I would enjoy either of these books?
