I play out of the hymns for my church. But don`t know when to use the pedals, I think I overpedal it. Can someone tell me when and how to use the pedals while reading out of the hymnals? Thanks

Ben

If the notes sound too blended, then you`re using too much pedal. You pretty much have to just listen to the music. If you do the pedal every little bit, then it should sound okay. You eventually get to know what it sounds like. Just be sure that you don`t do it too much or it sounds too choppy. And if you hold it too long, the notes run together. Just keep working on it. Its a little different for each song. If you can`t tell what its sounding like, then ask someone to listen and tell you what it sounds like. I hope this helps some. Good luck!

Identify the chord changes, and don`t pedal through one.
