Hey, up until now, i`ve been learning the classical songs for piano, but now i want to expand my horizons a bit... i am trying to find sheet music for metallica, and i don`t know how to read guitar tabs. as you can probably imagine, this makes things difficult, but does anyone know where i can get the sheet music for metallica`s song "One" or an explanation of how to read tabs so i can translate it to piano? any help would be appreciated, thanks!

All Metallica etc music I`ve ever managed to find for piano tends to be pretty dire! The best way I`ve found is to use it as a basis then work out your own stuff from the record. The more you do it the easier it gets (oh-er!!) With guitar tab they have the chords on the music as well so thats always a good starting place. They usually have proper music on it as well to help with the `twiddly` bits! Just remember that what works on guitar often sounds naff on piano and its sometimes better to take it in a totally different direction! Have fun - go mad!!!

Hey Tim,
If you go to http://www.8notes.com/tab you`ll see our guitar tab converter, which lets you upload guitar tabs and convert them into something approximating real sheet music - it should be enough to work the song out at least. You need a valid email to use it, but other than that it`s totally free!
Give it a try - it`s good fun
Best wishes
David
