hi.. I'm new here at 8 notes.. I'm learning how to play and read piano sheets on my own.. but there are things i don't know yet. One is, the sharps on the left side of the sheet.. (right after the G and F clef). Ive seen piano sheets with 4 sharps in it, and other sheets only have 2. Would you please tell me what those sharps are? By the way, I'm not a pianist.. I'm a drummer.. It is just now that i become interested of playing piano.. I would really appreciate the help you could give which will also help me play like a pro someday.. thanks a lot...

These sharps show you what key the piece is in (e.g only f# means that it's in the key of G-Major.) You probably know that to play a sharp you play one semi-tone up (usually a black key). B# and E# would be on the next white key though.
