So, I studied piano years ago and after break that's lasted several years when I didn't have a piano, I've finally begun to get back into the swing of things. The only problem is, I still apparently have this bad habit in technique that I wasn't able to kick when I had an actual piano teacher and I have no idea how to do so now.
When I'm playing scales or arpeggios especially, my pinky fingers refuse to stay down for long. The fly up, as though I'm holding a cup of tea or something, until of course there's a note that involves the pinky finger. It's as though they just don't...bend I suppose as well as the others. This sound ridiculous I know, but it's really bugging me. Not to mention it looks funny.
Has anyone else had a similar problem or maybe some suggestions of excercises that might help me kick the habit?
