As an retiree (71), with a great el keyboard (especially piano). I am proficient with all intricate left hand guitar chords from all my fake books but it was suggested to conquer playing the jammed close together, left & melody right hand groupings called "blocked chords" as played by my idol George Shearing. Is there a formula for creating blocked chords on the fly from the guitar signature? How can I merge the two hands closely for a smooth, melodic, full sound?.....as opposed to.....root, chord..... fifth, chord-chord. (A singalong expert retired to Fl having plenty of time to learn) Thanks to your young minds!
