nothing under $1000. you're probably better off getting a digital piano. depending on which one, it will cost less and will never need to be tuned!

How much do grand pianos cost?

A good, new upright would be around $3000+. I have a digital (Kawai CA5) that cost a little less (I think $2500) because it was on sale.
I've seen some concert grands for as high as $25,000.

You can probably find a free piano. There are a ton of people who just want to get rid of theirs. Check the newspaper ads or if you have anything like an Uncle Henry's - that's just a publication in which people advertise things they are selling or giving away. If you did that, you'd probably have to get it tuned, but that would be cheaper than buying a new piano, anyway.
