I am not having lessons at the moment, I am between teachers, I am gonna be ambitious and go for This one, but I have no idea how to approach it, I probably only try the first couple of pages for the moment, but still, can someone tell me how they tackled it? Any help greatly appreciated.
IF you`re interested, I found the music here:

I dunno, I just got back into music, and I tried to play this for about a week, I@ve decided to leave it for about a year to work on my flexibilty and speed. It is as hard as it sounds if not a lot harder....

I divided the song into short sections, really short, like quarter-measure short. I practiced each section until I got it perfect, then I put many sections together into a larger section, practiced, then merge, et cetera.

divide the piece up, and do one part till u get th`t and work on another etc... watch out fer parts in the piece where it repeats itself,er kinda has the same melody etc... before u play u should stretch the b/ws of yer fingers since Chopin like octaves, umm to explain this, start on any key w/ yer thumb and stretch the furthest key u can do, do this bout 3 times each hand up and back down every time before u practice. when u divifde the piece make sure th`t when u put it back together to watch fer breaks in yer playin, b/c you`ll subconsciencely stop fer the few seconds where u would stop practicing hen divided, so hope th`t helps.

how long did it take you to learn it? I practice about 3-4 hours a day and about 3/4-1 hour I spend on finger exercises (hanon, scales arpeggios etc.). I`d say I have about a month and a half to learn, is that realistic? (not the whole piece just a page or 2)

it`s very relistic, i`ve learnt pieces in a week to 4 days, but remember it`s n`t the quantity of the practice but the quality, i think it could also depend on yer level as well, i`ve been playin fer 10 yrs

I`v e been playing about 8 years, but I always get bored of piano after about 6 months and turn my attention to something else for 6 months, and then back again, so I`ve probably really only been playing about 4 or 5 years in total, I think I over practice, that`s why I get bored. Anyway, the length of time it takes for me to learn a piece depends entirely on the piece, I learned op.25 no.9 (the butterfly study) pretty quickly (about a week or 2) I don`t know why I gues i just picked up on the pattern pretty quickly, but all the other etudes I`ve tried took me AGES to get up to standard. I know someone who learned the whole of the winter wind in about 3 weeks , and he isn`t that much better than me. I think it just varies from person to person.

first, play the right hand alone until you can get the right rythm with all the notes, then try the left hand, but then dont go straight onto doing it with both, then divide it into bars, then you should play it all tthrough very slowly, then get gradually faster, i played it for my grade 8 exam and passed, believe me it works

are we still talking about "winter wind" here? I thought that was higher than grade 8, but I haven`t tried it yet so I guess I wouldn`t know..

I don`t know anything about grades. All I know is what I can play and how well I can play it. But maybe I`m just weird and most people go to a school or something? I`ve been playing for 7 years. I`m 14.

if winter wind is too hard try op.10 no.5 aka. `black key`, it`s easier in comparison and the melody is entirely made up of black keys which does make it a lot easier. Apparently chopin hated it.

I think Op.25 No.11 is harder.
Also, I don`t think we should call them "Black Key" or "Winter Wind" because Chopin didn`t name them.

I don`t believe you robert quiller. I looked you up on google to see if you were a child prodigy or something, and I found a site that said
~robert quiller
at the bottom so I`m pretty certain that would be you. You didn`t mention the piano once at your site, and you`d have to be pretty damn good by now to learn the entire piece in 2 days, so I would expect a brief mention at least.
