Actually I think it`s pretty realistic to learn it in two days, just not very good.

it could be in grade 8.. the thing is that in some countries grade 8 IS the last grade.. grade 11/ARCT is most the most common number of grades though...

i found the winterwind relatively easy to master, as long as you dont force anything with speed or anything early.. i found etudes like the op. 10 #8 even harder to master.. but if it IS too hard, forget about the black key.. u should to the revolutionary.. why? because its thrilling, energetic, virtuoso (seemingly), and pleasing to the audience, while still being actually one of the easiest etudes out of all 24, which most ppl dont realize. its full of patterns in the left hand, and u`ll find yourself running through it before u even know it.. its fits your hands quite neatly.

If you want to learn winter wind, which i recently learned, and you are not some prodigy who learns things in two days, the best way to do it is to slowly learn the right hand, so you know every note well and make sure you have correct fingering, and when you are very confortably playing it slowly, it is time to start learnign it faster. But it is omportant to have the basics of the fast R.H. otherwise you will never get it sounding good up to speed. hope this helps.

Winter Wind is a toughie, but what about opus 10 no. 4 in C# minor? The close quarters of that piece make it a real killer. And his opus 25 etude (forget the number) with the sixths in each hand... that left hand is harder than it looks to get to full speed.

there are so many techniques involved in playing the winter wind. I believe that one of the most significant of them is the WRIST ROTATION. I cannot stress this enough..watch all the greats play this piece...they use all wrist. This makes it incredibly easier to play without cramping your fingers. Also try to play the whole piece, when almost done perfecting it, legato without any pedal. I agree with what Harvey said about calling this piece the "winter wind"..same with Beethoven, Chopin didnt exactly nickname these pieces. Oh..and yes etude no 12 op.10 is fairly easy..but in my opinion no.2 op.25 is easier. the reason for this is not only speed, and lengthwise of both pieces, but when playing no.12 op.10, u must get those crescendos and diminuendos perfect
