Been learning, ok so far. but now I have come to four note cords, basic c major.

c e g and then c again. trouble is I have difficulty to the point that i cannot play it. I can span an octave just, but when i have to pull my middle fingers to the e and g I can only just touch the c, and would find it all but impossible to play a succession.

Now, is it game over or is it a matter of the fingers being stretched? Is there an exercise to stretch the fingers?

You are talking about your left hand, right?

Try playing the g with your index finger.

If you place your pinky and thumb on the c's of the octave, then your ring finger and your index should almost automatically fall on the e and g. This goes for all keys.

you can use fingerpower or hannon excersizes to stretch your fingers and increase your technical ability

Sorry, I'm talking about my right hand, it's actually not too bad on the left, that's fine.

Omega, I will google those suggestions, thanks.
