so i took lessons for 3 months back in 2nd grade. then my teacher quit. 3 years later i decided to learn a song so i taught myself. the 3 years later was 3 years ago. i can play it's just that i can't sight-read. i need help. any help????

Go to your local music store and have the clerk show you to some music of various levels. Maybe some Disney songbooks or popular songs that you like that are not too difficult. Find stuff that is just barely on the difficult side for you to play. Also get some classical music. You could probably play a handful of Chopin prčludes as well as some Bach. "Bach for Beginners" published by Boosey and Hawkes in a few books is a great start. Also look into something like sonatina album published by Schirmer. Here's a few links:

Just find a bunch of stuff right around or slightly above your level and practice sightreading. Just leaf through pages and try playing this page, or that page... eventually you'll get better and faster at sightreading. Practice is the only way.
