I know there are 8 piano grades and I am learning piano and studying for Grade 1. However, I realise there is special keyboard tuition and you can take keyboard lessons and take keyboard Grade 1. What is the difference? Do you learn anything different for the keyboard Grade 1 than you do for the piano grade 1. As far as I am concerned, at the end of the day a keyboard is the same layout as a piano with sets of black and white notes, so why do they have special books for Keyboard Grade exams? If you can play a piano, you can play a keyboard. I can play Greensleves on a grand piano and also can play Greensleves on a keyboard. I don't see the difference, but there must be otherwise they would not write and publish special keyboard books.
