how long does it take? I know for some it is easy and for others not so easy. I have been learning for a little over two years now and I still find sight reading the most difficult. I have just got a piece at Grade 2 level and although I know I am capable of playing it, I am not a fluent sight reade and so it takes me about three days to perfect the piece whereas it should only take about an hour??

Does anyone else have this problem? I am very determined and will sit for hours over a piece until I have mastered it. I want to get to the stage where I can just pick up the piece and play it with ease. I will not call myself a painist until I can do that. I guess I am just impatient to progress as quickly as possible. Maybe I am trying too hard? It is starting to take over my life which is not good. I put my piano practice over and above other things because I am despeate to learn. Sure, I have come a long way because when I first started, I knew nothing.
