I have decided to get a digital piano to learn on being looking at the yamaha clp 430 Or anything round that price range If anyone knows which one would be best let me know? . I don’t know if this is true but someone said don’t spend to much on digital piano if your learning, He said if it took me say 5 years to learn and get to a point where I can play quite good, then it would be best to get another in say like 6 or 7 years time as the technology moves quite fast and I could take advantages of that. Well I have to start some where so i guess the £1400 mark seem ok ?

From reading your other posts it appears that you have limited musical knowledge so...here are a few things that you might want to think about before buying a digital piano.

My parents bought be a new piano back in 1961 when I was 10 years old. Other than the normal tuning and a few minor adjustments over the years, I'm absolutely certain it will last another 50 years.

Before going out and buying a new digital or acoustic piano, you might want to consider buying or renting a used one just to make sure that this is really the commitment that you want to make.

In additional to my acoustic piano, I also have a Yamaha digital piano that I absolutely love, but the touch and feel is totally different than the acoustic, even though it has adjustable feel of the keys.

Two of the options that I love about the digital is that it has a built in metronome and a six track recorder.

If I were you I'd go with a used acoustic piano and spend the extra money on a good instructor. Then in 4 -5 years buy what ever you want.

Good Luck!
Bill
