I`m starting Chopin`s Fantaisie Impromptu and was wondering if anybody had any advice on playing and practicing it.

Don`t worry much about the counting. Just make sure the first note of the sets of four in the right hand is together with the first and third notes of the sextuplets in the left hand.
But I`m getting so sick of that song. Almost as much as Moonlight Mvt. 3. Too many little kids play it! And they don`t even play it that good! I highly do not recommend playing this song.

Never, never, attempt to distribute the rhythms ( no matter it`s four against 3, seven against 4 or etc.) using maths. Alyaws, always, do it in even feel of the main pulse. It can be crotchet or quaver. This was how I did it last time...Play the LH evenly first, then speed up the LH. Next, memorise the RH. Play it evenly, speed it up, next combine the 2 hands together. Do this for the first few bars till u get the hang of it. And miracously, they`ll go together,so long as u played them evenly when u did them as sh. U have to try to squeeze em all in evenly.Try for a few more bars and u will find that it`s chickenly easy. Yr muscles will get used to the co-ordination so long as u try to feel the main pulse. There`s no point trying to find out which note will go with which and when, and in a much tedious and too slow pace...caz it`s impossible and almost fruitless to play like that.
