She wants me to play around 5 pieces. And I am super nervous because it’s going to be open to the public and such. (despite it being so far away) I’ve played at a recital before but it was obviously just one piece, so this is all new for me haha. Do any of you have experience with first time solo recitals and have any tips for someone in my Position? Not really sure what I’m going to play just yet for all 5, however I’m planning on having Liebestraum no 3, and a four hand (piano duet) piece as well, not sure which one just yet though.

How is this obvious?

How is this a joke?

Anyway, my advice is to begin your recital with the piece with which you are the most comfortable so that you can ease into the situation. The advantage of a longer recital is that you have time to wear out your stage fright (fright is a huge expenditure of energy, and no one has inexhaustible reserves) and actually concentrate on the music. This, of course, is assuming we will have emerged from the covid-19 crisis by then and that recitals and other concerts will have resumed. In the meanwhile, I hope you have a piano at home to practice with. (I don't--my Yamaha Motif8 isn't adequate for real practice--so for now I'm concentrating on the guitar and cello.) Good luck.
