I`m an intermediate player but can play some advance pieces. My family reunion is coming up again and in the past two reunions I played classical pieces. I want to play something different and more upbeat and fun. Something that everyone will recognize. I was thinking about a jazz piece but I welcome any suggestions.
One option I was thinking about the song Bill Murry played at the end of Groundhog Day but I don`t know what it`s called. So are there any other suggestions?

How about some Scott Joplin? The Entertainer and the Maple Leaf Rag are pieces that everyone would recognise. The Maple Leaf Rag is very lively and sounds impressive if played well. I think you can get sheets for both at www.sheetmusicarchive.net
Try Magnetic Rag if you want something with a few majestic minor sections.

Cherry,
Why don`t you try your hand at "Things Ain`t The Way The Used To Be" by Count Basie. It`s an easy blues in C. What`s so nice about this song is that it will help your improvisation skills.
