Is it true that you shoudnt learn on a keyboard? I want to learn piano so badly but I dont have access to a piano... what do you think??? could I just get a keyboard or would I be shunned by classical piano players?

You won`t develop your finger strength on a keyboard, and the keys are often more closely spaced so you won`t develop a decent stretch. Have you thought of hiring a piano? I know that where I am (Australia) you can hire pianos with a view to buying them.

I`ve never heard of hiring pianos. I don`t even know anywhere that will rent pianos.

thats completete crap. I`ve been playing for almost 9 years and i dont think so.

I learned on keyboard, and played it for 5 years until i got my piano 3 1/2 years ago.
I learned fine, and any problems you find when you move over to piano can be quickly overcome.

Of course you can learn with a keyboard. I`ve been playing for 5 years and I am pretty good. I have a 5 octive keyboard and it rocks. So whatever anyone says about u can`t learn by playing a keyboard is BS!!!

You might was to consider a digital piano with weighted keys. You will save a lot of money and space and still learn the correct fingering and stretching.

Keyboard is fine! I play it myelf I`m 13. I ain`t a kick ass piano pšlayer but know some things. I played on da Piano (Pianino) And it is a different feeling and you do not need "strenght" to play. Like on my synthesizer I have a keytouch option that defines the force that is pushing the keys!
