We`re not being discouraging...We`re just being honest abt, it...Truth hurts but every ounce of it comes from our experience. Knowing how hard something is or knowing where the `real challenge` lies in this case, and accepting it and finally overcoming it, is just part and parcel of making u a better pianist.
Trust me...u`ll rather people tell u how hard something is and that yr probably doing it the wrong way...rather than the other way round.

I think the thread starter was havin a joke (i wasnt talking about u svaty pianist btw) because being able to play moonlight 1st mov after 3 years of lessons isnt much to brag about and key pushers! The term is pianists ya know!

dang, listen to all you professionals, i must i`m pretty impressed. i`ve been playing for about 10 years but i gave up lessons, too confining, i compose and play by ear. didn`t know there was a competition tho! chill ppl, play from your hearts and we can all live happily ever after!!

When you say you "can" play the moonlight sonata that doesn`t say much. The notes isn`t that difficult but to get right music felling of the piece that`s the difficult part. You can learn a monkey to press the right keys in the right order but it won`t sound as music...

i`m sorry i`ve been playing piano for 12 years and i can play all that too. Do you know that motzart played very difficult pieces at 6? YOu are really nothing special.

Don`t make me laff. I could play that before i took lessons. Try and play chopin. Its aslot harder than beethoven

I hate to break it to you, but Moonlight Sonata isn`t that hard...but it`s awesome you can play it!! I love it
