Maybe something classical. What grade piano are you in? If youre in one of the lower grades you could try something in a grade 10 book

i don`t classify myself in a grade but...I`v been taking lessons for almost 5yrs. now...I thing the hardest piece I know is called Impromptu in C Sharp minor Op.66 by Fredric Chopin. It`s my dream to on day play it. It sounds extremely difficult so....try out a Bach two part invention....those are pretty hard

Moonlight Sonata movement 3. That is really hard to play. My brother can play it perfectly and it makes me dizzy just watching. Hehe. Oh and Fantasy Impromptu is very difficult .. just started learning it.

The most difficult pieces in the world must be...

Godowsky`s variation on Chopin`s Butterfly Etude (OP 28 no 12) I think it may be technically impossible (Unless you have tweleve fingers!)

and Rachmaninoffs 3rd Piano Concerto. (This took me almost two solid years to get perfect)

Rachmaninov - Piano Concertos 2 & 3 , it is a real challenge especially if you`ve got small hands like me!

Chopin - Fantasie-Impromptu , definately a crowd pleaser type, not too difficult once you nail the rhythm between the left and right hand.

Gershwin - Rhapsody in Blue , great piece, and has a really neat feel to it, fairly challenging and a really different feel to it than classical

I agree, Fantasie Impromptu is very difficult, you may also try Chopin`s Revolutionary Etude. Try to play it as fast as Horowitz! and with the same quality!

Do you know a keyboard player from the progressive rock band Dream Theater? his name is Jordan Rudess (www.jordanrudess.com). Try to search on KaZaA for a song named "Jordan Rudess Keyboard Solo", youi can find the midi on the message boards of the website I gave you (scroll to the previous page than the more actual one). Now, just dare to play that solo!!

You could also try a number of liszt`s pieces, hungarian rhapsodies, transcendental etudes, just about anything of his. Rachmaninoff`s preludes, some at least, are very difficult as well.

I would suggest Liszt`s "La Campanella" as a real challenging piece.
Good luck!

Try Bach`s well tempered clavier (there are two books of 24 pieces each) they`re harder and more intracate than his two part inventions - try to make each part stand out = ) that`ll keep you busy!
