While practicing, focus on why it`s an etude.
I never played it seriously.

hi, i`ve been working on the etude for about two months now, and i can play the whole of it, though not at top speed. i only practice it maybe 30-40 minutes every other day, concentrating on a particular section, but always playing the piece as a whole at least twice. and also, i don`t always follow chopin`s fingering. i find it easier to use 4 and 1 when going down the chromatic scale. i don`t knwo if that defeats the purpose of the etude, though. well, hope that helps...

I played Etude op. 10 no.12 for a month now. It`s flawless and I`m considering of going to a recording studio. You don`t really need to play anything before Etude op.25 no.12 I believe it`s the hardest and most powerful peice out of all the etudes. If you have the passion to play then you`ll be able to do anything. Good luck!

p.s. Fantasia Impromptu is a really nice piece as well. A lot easier than the etudes, have fun!

I`ve was inspired a couple of months back to learn the piano having heard the Chopin etudes and some of the Rachmininoff concertos. Over the past 2 months I`ve just about got the Revolutionary to performing standard, the Rach C# minor prelude - up to speed until the final page with all the massive chords which is stil a bit slow, and yesterday I started work on winterwind. I found it is necessary to practice both hands at once otherwise its hard to join both hands later on. I`ve just about got the first page up to speed having drummed in the scalic pattern.

Ive been playing for 11 years no(since i was 4) and i just started playing this.... no affence... but people who get into this kind of music within like maybe 2 years usually can play the piece... but they have almost no technique , making the piece not articulated and such causing it to sound like crap.it might be diffrent for the odd few.. but yah. usually going through the levels helps... even so it takes a really time.
