...also, you don`t need to know any Bach because he didn`t really write "piano" songs...
why? are you dying or something??

i think every pianist should know Tchaikovsky`s piano concerto no.1 as it is really THE piano piece

You don`t have to play anything before you die.

But some "must play" pieces IMHO are Rach C-sharp minor prelude, Beethoven "Appassionata" sonata, Bach second Partita. Can`t think of any more right now.

P.S. I`m in love with Rach 2, but I guess most people couldn`t play it if they wanted to.

here`s my list:
1. Chopin Polonaise Aflat
2. Chopin revolutionary, harp, op25 no5, no11, no12
3. and fur elise (yes it`s easy, but it`s a song that EVERYBODY knows how to play and if you dont know it, people might say, hmmm, why can`t he play it, i thought all pianists know that one)

hey which one, fur elise? It`s one of my favorites, and in my experience, that`s the one people most often ask for.

Any songs. After you`re dead you can`t play anymore.

ok, let me rephrase the question: What songs are "must-play" songs that pianists want to play in their lifetimes. Your own personal goals. Get it?

Yup, I`m all that, bigheaded, show-off, whatever. lol
Ya, criticizing is my hobby.

And since I have to mention Rach 2 in every post I make...I  Rach 2!
