I`m REALLY curious. Why would somebody `who`s out of music at the moment` be wandering around a forum that is specifically for music loving people. Who needs a life? That`s the equivalent of me visiting a site about........golf, or......American football (sorry US folks)....or rap music (not really music is it?? Thought I`d be a bit controversial for a change).
Interested in the digital piano comments. My teacher used to have one and I hated it at first but got used to it. If you are playing a cronky out-of-tune acoustic then a digital has got to be preferable - always in tune as somebody said earlier. But it can never be as satisfying as a good quality/condition acoustic. Interestingly you can now buy an acoustic that also has the facility to change over to digital mode. You get the best of both worlds and you can practice on the headphones in the middle of the night or when everybody`s watching TV. Costs more though, about £1000 UK or 1600 US$ extra.

I got an email saying somebody replies to this, so I came back to it.

Organs?    00:55 on Friday, June 13, 2003

Has anyone one here ever tried an organ? (Sort of off the subject.) I have an organ, but I`ve never really played it. I also have a keyboard, digital piano, and an old, out-of-tune, stand-up piano. But what about organs? Are they the same as pianos? Are they better?

No, I`ve never played an organ. They`re all still inside my body. Just kidding. No, I`ve never played an organ. When I was younger I got a tour of the local cathedral. We went everywhere EXCEPT to the organ!!! I was upset. That was the best part of the tour!

I`m working on Chopin`s Nocturne in B Flat minor. Do any of you guys do solo and ensemble in the winter? So, how long has everyone been playing? 12 years here.

I`ve tried organ a couple times. it`s loads of fun. 2 or 3 manuals plus the pedals are a whole nother keyboard. plus you have tons of stops. depending on the size there`s a delayed sound that`s hard to get used to. being able to play piano doesn`t necessarily mean you`ll be good at organ though. it`s tons different.

Oh! Yes! *remembers stuff* I have an organ piano hymn book thingy and I played a song from it on a normal piano. Not quite an organ, but close enough! I`ve played for 4 years. I took gr 1 for 2 years. I quit because I`m taking music in high school and hope to play
