After looking at loads of different piano forums on this website,(I have only recently discovered internet forums by the way, very impressed).

I was just wondering how many people who have posted messages on this piano forum, actually play proffesionally or are performing to audiences etc.. Because it sounds like there are a lot of talented pianists who write messages on this site.

I am interested to hear whether most people just play to themselves and no one else, for example just at home. Do you have to be something special to take up music as a career? Also is there a lot of people who play for a living without being famous as it were? and is that what you do?

I consider myself good and can play advanced pieces, but not concerto`s, simply because I have no orchestra in my house to practice with, Is it standard for a pianist to take it up as a career if they can play very well?
